Quick Add resource estimates
Use Quick Add when you need a spread curve to distribute hours for multiple resources at once. Alternatively, you can go to the estimate details of each resource to spread its estimated hours, but you'll save more time with Quick Add.
- On the Estimates page, select a PBS element. If it has existing resources already, they will appear in the estimates grid to the right.
- Above the grid, click
More Actions > Quick Add > Resource Estimates.
- Distribute each resource estimate with a spread curve in a separate row.
- An asterisk in a column name means that the information is required.
- If you're unsure what to enter, see the following table to learn more.
- Click OK.
Task* | Select the task that the resource estimate will be added to. |
Name* | Select the resource whose level of effort you are estimating. |
Amount* | Enter the resource’s total hours/units/cost. |
Curve | Select the spread curve that will distribute the hours/units/cost in the task. |
Start Date & End Date | Enter spread period dates that fall within the task’s dates. Leave them blank to spread the resource estimate over the full length of the task. If the proposal's period of performance dates have not been set, you will see the Offset and Duration columns instead. |
Offset | To delay the start of the spread period, enter the number of months to delay it by. Leave Offset and Duration blank to spread the resource estimate over the full length of the task. If the proposal has period of performance dates, you will see the Start Date and End Date columns instead. |
Duration | Enter the number of months that the spread period will last. Leave Offset and Duration blank to spread the resource estimate over the full length of the task. If the proposal has period of performance dates, you will see the Start Date and End Date columns instead. |
Profit/Fee | Enter a profit/fee rate for the resource estimate. This overrides the task-level rate and proposal-level rate. It also overrides the default rates in the indirect rate table. |
Delete | To remove rows of information, select the rows, then click Delete. |
Click the Download Excel Template button to get an empty spreadsheet with the same Quick Add columns. Once you've filled the template in, you can paste everything from there in the Quick Add form.
